Mike Litman
15 years of brand strategy. 20+ AI-native products shipped. One clear brief: make complex ideas feel human.
The Opportunity
AI tooling has a voice problem. The companies winning aren't the ones with the best models — they're the ones that sound like humans talking to humans.
Granola sits at the centre of how knowledge workers think, decide and act. The product is extraordinary. Now the story needs to match — across blog, newsletter, social and thought leadership. This is a once-in-a-generation content role: define how an AI-native product talks about itself to the world, while the world is still figuring out what AI-native even means.
The Challenge
Granola's product ethos is meticulous — the writing experience, the design, the intelligence underneath. But content strategy at this stage means building from zero: audience development, editorial voice, a repeatable system that scales without losing soul. You need someone who can set the strategy and do the writing. Someone who understands product-led growth and can make dense AI concepts feel approachable, even inevitable. Someone who's built audiences from nothing before.
The Answer
I'm not a traditional content marketer. I'm a strategist who writes, builds and ships — and has spent 15 years making complex ideas land.
From publishing trend intelligence at Contagious to launching a B2B thought-leadership platform at Digital Frontier to building 20+ AI-native editorial and product experiences independently — I've operated at the intersection of brand voice, technology and audience growth for my entire career. I write. I edit. I set strategy. I brief others. I ship. That's exactly the range this role demands.
Shipped, live, real
AI-native products built and shipped in six months — each one a complete editorial and product experience with its own voice, audience logic and content system. Not decks. Not concepts. Live, working things in the world.
From a published author and BIMA 100 Tech Pioneer who's generated £3.2M in new revenue from emerging technology at MediaMonks.

The Approach
This is how I've built everything — from a £3.2M emerging tech business line at MediaMonks to 20+ independent AI products. Strategy sets the direction. Shipping reveals the truth. Granola's craft ethos demands both rigour and velocity. This loop delivers that.
Why Granola
Most AI companies treat content as a distribution problem. Granola treats writing itself as a craft — in the product, in the design, in how the notepad actually works. That's rare and it matters. I've spent my career at the intersection of technology and editorial quality: making complex things feel clear, making AI feel human, making the smart choice feel like the obvious one. Granola's audience — founders, operators, knowledge workers — is exactly who I've been building for. And the fact that this is a small, product-obsessed team that ships fast and cares deeply about quality isn't a trade-off for me. It's the entire point.
